Hobbies

In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, watching TV series/movies, getting in a good workout, and hanging out with my friends. I was also in band before college and I want to build a healthy hobby of reading a book, so if you'd like to know more about my experiences, click along where you'd like!

Video Games

Currently Playing

I currently enjoy playing Hollow Knight: Silksong. The game is absolutely beautiful with a hand-crafted cartoon art style, incredible sound design, and an unmatched sountrack by Hollow Knight's music composer Christopher Larkin. The game is fairly difficult with interactive combat and tricky platforming, and I am just in love with it! There are apparently 40 bosses in the game, and I cannot wait to face them since the bosses I have fought have all been a treat to figure out. Highly recommend you give this game a try!

Minecraft

Minecraft is one of my all time favorite videogames and is probably the game I've spent the most time on. I made many online friends on Minecraft servers and the singleplayer is also pretty fun too. The game is great for building big projects and I especially like building large-scale projects in survival worlds. I always find myself coming back to Minecraft and playing for a few weeks even though the game is over a decade old.

Check out some of my builds!

Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight is the first game in the Hollow Knight franchise and as the series' first game, Hollow Knight is nothing short of amazing. Its unique art style and charm attracted an insance amount of players, especially if you consider the small size of its indie development team, Team Cherry. I had a great time fighting the game's insane bosses and trying to clear all of them in more difficult environments through the DLC. I would definitely recommend playing Hollow Knight if you like metroidvanias or platformers, regardless of its difficulty.

League of Legends

League of Legends is my favorite MOBA game and contains the IP of one of my favorite TV Series of all time, Arcane. While the game is infamous for having toxic players, most games you don't encounter them and you have the ability to mute them when you'd like. If you want to know my league rank, I'm making a page that will display my current rank, so check back later. Currently my favorite champions:

Top Jg Mid Bot Sup
Fiora, Teemo Amumu, Lillia, Vi Ahri, Akali, Veigar Ezreal, Jhin, Yunara Nautilus, Thresh, Blitzcrank, Rakan

The Binding of Isaac

The Binding of Isaac was my first roguelite videogame and completely transformed how I thought of video games. The gameplay is challenging at times and can be really fun. There are also a vast cast of characters, each equipped with their unique ways of attacking/moving/other creative changes to other characters. Every run is unique, and I believe this game, like Silksong, is underpriced with how much content you get. With over 20 endings and even more characters combined with insanely well written stories, this game is truly a masterpiece.

Brawl Stars

Brawl Stars is my favorite mobile game of all time. The multiplayer live-action gameplay is insanely fun and you have so much control over your brawler. With enough upgrades, it really seems like winning a game depends on how skilled of a player you are (up to a certain point). Since its release back in 2018, Brawl Stars has continued to deliver great updates with new, exciting brawlers, gamemodes, mechanics, and collaborations. My favorite brawlers are Stu, Jannet, and Kaze. Please add me if you play this is my go-to mobile game.

Balatro

As a roguelike game, Balatro is one of my favorite games to try to min-max. Plus, the game is played through creating poker hands, which as you may already know is one of my favorite pass times with my family. In addition, the game also has a vast cast of unique Joker cards whcih are very fun to discover and use. I highly recommend playing this game if you know anything about poker and rogue-like games!

Bloons Tower Defense 5

Bloons Tower Defense 5 absolutely carried me through my early days of school. Whenever we had time off and we were allowed to use our devices, I would hop into a game of BTD5. I loved getting to super deep levels with 20 sun temples and I also got the upgraded sun god temple that was super cool back in the day. I spent so much of my childhood playing BTD5 and hearing the song for the space track is super nostalgic for me. Although it may be a bit dated, BTD5 is one of the all time classic GOATS!

Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima was my first open-world game and has beautiful graphics. I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the game as it has a basic, yet entertaining story (with some fun twists in the main and side stories), fun customizations for how to do combat with your character, as well as a very cool stance mechanic that you can change mid-fight to perform probably like 50+ combos on enemies. I also really liked the bow mechanics of the game and sniping down mongol enemies was very satisfying since you can one shot them stealthily with an archer build. The armormsets are also beautiful, and unlocking all of your gear, stances, hp, and so many other things made the game super fun and lasted a very long time. I highly recommend this game still if you enjoy leveling up your characters or open-world adventure games with a good story.

Movies/TV

Currently Watching

The Penguin takes place in the Batman universe and follows the story of Oswald Cobb as he moves up the criminal corporate ladder. My favorite character is Oswald because he is quick-witted, smart, and very charming. I'm currently on episode 4 and am excited to see how his character progresses and I hope he gains some more heart.

Favorites

Puss and Boots, The Last Wish

Puss and Boots: The Last Wish is a heartfelt movie with three main groups of characters fighting to reach the Wishing Star for a wish which is guarenteed to come true. The story explores many good themes of family, the value of life, and what it means to be alive. #1 best movie of all time and it's not even close.

Arcane

The animation in Arcane is unlike any other animated series. The show is absolutely stunning, leaves room for interpretation, has great subtle foreshadowing, even greater parallels, and some of the coolest characters in any show since the chracters had already been written quite well in League of Legends. From the cool game references to the amazing season 2 soudntrack, Arcane is as close to perfect as you can get from an animated series. #1 favorite show of all time. I even bought an Arcane hoodie!

Breaking Bad

A classic TV series and it is well deserved as it is one of the best written pieces of media of all time. When I first watched Breaking Bad, I was definitely too young (11) and found myself rooting for Walter White even until the end of the series. The series' characters and cast could not have been better and the show has no bad episode. My second favorite show for sure.

Attack on Titan

Best anime of all time easily. The world building is unnmatched, there are no plot holes, and there are so many plot twists and foreshadowing that you are stuck between loving how you knew something would happen and loving how you never expecting another thing to happen. If you watch closely, and build up some theories without having watched what comes next, Attack on Titan offers an unparalleled experience for plot development. Genuinely written knowing everything that would happen since the start of the series and that story is so good, potentially even better than Breaking Bad.

Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse

This movie is actually a fever dream. I don't know if it's because I watched it in theatres, but the experience I had watching this movie was like a trance. The animation for the movie is insanely good, there are colors, camera postions/effects, sounds/songs, and probably more that convey and foreshadow the plot as well as convey hidden meanings. You could analyze this movie for years and find new ways the screeenwriters, animators, or composers used their unique additions to the movie as story elements. Aside from those insane details, the story is very good and has a very important message that I think everyone should see. 10/10 I recommend watching this movie!

Band

I joined band in sixth grade as a percussionist. As a band, we played live concerts for our communities and marching shows in high school during football games and for our own competitions. Check out a run from my first marching season or some of the percussion pieces I have been a part of!
I met so many great people from band and grew so much as a person through my experiences with others. I learned how to stay disciplined and I owe so much to what this community has given me. While my days in band may be over, the memories I made and the changes it brought to my life will never escape me. I also plan on getting my own drumkit later in life and I can go back to drumming!

Books

I have put my book reading goal aside while I study to take the GRE. So right now, I'll say I am reading my vocab mountain! I gotta learn like 1,000 vocab words so it is basically like reading right?
